SERVICES

Community Fridge

As part of our commitment to meeting Service Users’ diverse needs, we operate a discreet in-house food bank. This small but impactful initiative aims to ensure that no individual or family supported by Pennine Mencap goes without access to essential food items.

Our discreet food bank is available exclusively to our service users, offering them a confidential and convenient way to access the support they may require. We understand that circumstances can change, and unexpected challenges arise, making it difficult for some individuals and families to access an adequate food supply. Through our food bank, we strive to alleviate this burden and provide a safety net during challenging times.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to the generous support of individual stores that contribute to our food bank. We would like to express our gratitude to Aldi Chadderton, Aldi Ashton-under-Lyne, Aldi Hyde, Lidl Ashton-under-Lyne, and other local retailers who have partnered with us to make a positive difference in the lives of those we serve. Their continued support allows us to maintain our food bank and meet the needs of our service users effectively.

To ensure the sustainability and growth of our food bank, we also extend an invitation to other supermarkets, homeware stores, and local retailers to join us in this important cause. By partnering with Pennine Mencap, you can make a direct and meaningful impact on the lives of vulnerable individuals and families in our community. Together, we can create a network of support that ensures no one goes hungry or lacks access to basic necessities.

If you represent a supermarket, homeware store, or local retailer and would like to contribute to our food bank, we warmly welcome your donations. Whether it's non-perishable food items, personal care products, or household essentials, your contributions can make a significant difference in the lives of those who rely on our services.

At Pennine Mencap, we believe that everyone deserves dignity, respect, and the assurance of having their basic needs met. Our discreet in-house food bank is just one of the ways we strive to create a caring and inclusive community for all.

If you are a service user in need of food bank support, please reach out to our dedicated team. Confidentiality and empathy are paramount to us, and we are here to help you access the resources you require during challenging times.

Together, let's build a community where no one faces hunger alone. Join Pennine Mencap in our mission to support vulnerable individuals and families, and help us make a positive impact on their lives.
